Examples from Red Bird's Living PortfolioInstalled Works: In-ground & GrowingStreet of Dreams The design and construction team provided a successful union of the sustainable aesthetic utilized by Frank Lloyd Wright, the regional character of the Pacific Northwest, and an incorporation of restorative landscape design fundamentals as the underlying inspiration for this landscape. The landscape design takes cues from the form and intent of the architecture - broad, arching, organic gestures fused with sensitivity to environmental considerations to site this home "in this place." The careful details and exquisite composition mirror the thoughtfulness of the architecture and the glory of the surrounding countryside. “Just writing to give you props for your design at the Street of Dreams. Your house is my favorite - an excellent treatment of the unique site and setting.” L. Leighton, Director of Planning, Westlake Consultants, Inc.
Sacred Heart Villa
Applying the tenets of universal and restorative design and the principle of collaboration for installation (“many hands do good work”), this courtyard came alive for SHV’s independent living senior community. Raised planters are a customized design by GP & RBD and were handcrafted by Friends of the Carpenter. “I love working with Annie Kirk! - and feel very thankful that our paths have crossed.” M. Rowan, co-founder, Board Director, Treasurer, Garden Partners
Private Residence An extensive “Cottage in the Woods” remodel for three large family events, sparked the need for a fast tracked, well executed, closely coordinated, multi-acre landscape master plan, design and installation - occurring within seven months. Sweeping vistas of nearby hillsides and vineyard accentuated by layout, materials, and forest preservation. Owners’ love and need for “coexistence” with surrounding wildlife cared for in sensitively selected plant material and water features designed. “Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to the plants for our wedding. They looked wonderful. I loved them all!!! Thank you.” - Owner
Private Residence Capitalizing on the inherent flair of this 1950’s ranch and long family legacy, design interventions tied disconnected areas together through pathways, coherent and vibrant planting areas, materials, and updated outdoor living areas that pop! A fusion of Pacific NW, updated ranch styling and a “tropical-ez” palette was the anecdote for the “make it Hawaii-like” craving of the owners. New lawn areas, a pool oasis, front entry access afford the current generation the ability to say “aloha” to their own legacy mark. “Everything is great!” Owners
